Everybody loves fries! And crispy baked polenta fries are such a delicious alternative. If you haven’t tried it before, polenta is wonderful when you bake it. It comes out of the oven so perfectly crispy and delicious. I always try to have a tube of polenta on hand, and I would definitely recommend that you have some around for future snacking needs!
Crispy baked polenta fries are a great was to mix up a favorite side dish. They are a perfect snacking option that everyone will enjoy! I usually like to serve them with whatever marinara sauce happens to be in the fridge, but the dipping options are endless. Barbecue sauce, garlic aioli, hummus… Basically, just try your favorite dipping sauce and I bet it will be yummy.
Just be forewarned, crispy baked polenta fries won’t last long once you put them on the table. So you may want to have more than one tube of polenta ready just in case. Especially if you are expecting more than 2-4 people to be snacking on them!
The fries will take about 40 minutes to cook in the oven, but otherwise they are easy to make and all you have to do is cut the polenta and season the fries with your favorite spices. They are definitely an easy snack to whip up when you are craving something salty and crunchy. Hope you enjoy these polenta fries as much as we do!
Seasoned polenta fries baked to crispy, golden perfection!
- 1 tube polenta, sliced
- olive oil, as needed
- salt, to taste
- paprika, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- oregano, to taste
Preheat the oven to 450°. Line a baking sheet with optional parchment paper and set aside.
Cut the tube of polenta into 1" thick fries. Lightly coat the fries in olive oil and arrange on the baking sheet in rows.
Sprinkle the fries with the salt and spices to taste.
Bake the fries for about 20 minutes until they are starting to become crisp and golden. Flip the fries and sprinkle the other side with an additional coat of salt and spices.
Place the fries back in the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until they are crisp and golden and the edges are beginning to brown slightly.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce!
- These fries are great with may different seasoning combinations, so have fun experimenting with your favorite spices!
- The parchment paper is not necessary for cooking the fries, it just helps to keep them from sticking to the pan. You can also just bake the fries directly on the pan if you prefer.
